QX 9.5.4.1 printing problem

Follow-up:I went into Time Machine, to the main hard drive, then to Library>Printers>Xeroxand replaced the whole Xerox folder with one from a month ago before this all began.I then restarted the computer, ran Disk Utilities and repaired permissions, then went to System Prefs and reinstalled the Xerox printer - BUT - when I went to pick the driver, the only option was "Xerox ColorQube 8700S, 3.5.1" and I think that is the newer driver not the older one.An I not replacing the correct printer prefs when I am going into Time Machine? It was mentioned a few posts back that it should be 2.something.Quark continues to just crash when attempting to print a larger document.What am I doing wrong here? I know I need the older Xerox driver, but picking the Xerox Printer folder from a month ago (via Time Machine) should have done it - yet it still comes up with the newer one. I am getting the feeling there is another printer pref folder somewhere else?Any ideas?

Did you delete the printer as well?
I deleted Library/Printers/Xerox, removed the printer (ColorQube), restarted.
Then install driver and add printer. This worked for me the other day.

I can not figure out where the computer is finding the Xerox ColorQube 8799S, 3.5.1 driver. I threw away the whole Xerox folder from Library>Printer>XeroxI removed the Xerox printer from the printer list in System Preferences>Print & ScanI went into Time Machine from a month ago and Restored the Xerox Printer folderI restarted the computerWhen I go to add the Xerox printer back to the printer list in System Preferences>Print & Scan I am putting in the ip address manually, picking the driver manually off the list - BUT - it still shows 3.5.1 as the Xerox driver for all the Xerox printers.I will try going back in Time Machine TWO months or more and see it that bring back the older driver.AM I MISSING something?

I can't believe that a small handful of people are the only ones having this issue with QuarkXPress and Xerox printers.I have yet to really solve this problem. I was able to install the older Xerox print driver - and that seemed to help, but even still when I go to print a larger file (more than few pages with images, text, etc) Quark chokes and crashes. I have sent crash reports. I have talked to Xerox. I have talked to several people on the Quark community board - I think I am done with Quark. I was a Pagemaker user once and moved to Quark years ago. Perhaps it really is time just to move on.I would LOVE Quark and/or Xerox to admit there is a problem here.

It's likely it is a combination error...Mac and Q. I am using Windows with two different Xerox DN PostScript printers. Both work just fine with latest drivers and using Windows 8.1 64-bit. That said, I almost never print direct from any application opting instead to export to PDF and if desired, print from Acrobat. I hate wasting paper and ink so I also proof the PDF quickly before printing.

Even ID has known issues printing direct (especially to HP printers...search the ID board). I also have ancient and current HP printers (both PostScript and PS emulation. I also don't have issues printing direct to them from any application...but still will use a PDF.

Having the same issue here in our department of 3 users! Not good! It's been on and off for printing since mid March for us all. Seems the latest Mac OS update killed printing for us all now. Mac OS:10.9.2Xerox printer driver update: 3.13.0 (March 31, 2014) for Color Qube 8570Firmware update: PS 4.68.0 for printer done as well No luck printing from Quark 9.5.4. Other programs are not affected.Help Quark!

See comments above and elsewhere about deleting the drivers and replacing with an older version. I have driver 2.112.0 if you want it; it should work with your system.

Only thing that has helped us is uninstalling bad Xerox drivers (3.0 and up) and installing old xerox drivers (ver. 2.94.3)Had to get an uninstall script from Xerox to run in the Terminal. Then and only then could we get the old driver installer to work. Our IT dept. did this thru Xerox support.
