Export pdf with vectors as images?

Post by mmx38 » 12 Nov 2013, 04:14

Hello everybody,

I am totally newbie with Quarkxpress so I might not use technical terms..

I want to ask if there is anyway to export my work as pdf with all the vector graphics converted as images. I also need to be able to retain text as is.

The reason I need to do this is because the final pdf will be used by other people to extract the images from it and present it as HTML webpage. Unfortunatelly the vector graphics cannot be identified so they go missing..

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Export pdf with vectors as images?

In QuarkXPress v. 5 to 9 you can create your work directly in a web layout and export it directly to html from XPress, without exporting to pdf.
If you have to export to pdf, the raster images are exported as raster, and the text and other vector art are kept as vectors.
Hope this can help you.

Export pdf with vectors as images?

Thank you very much for the answers!

I 'll try to export directly to html (but this is not really in my hand..)..

As for the second thing you mentioned..

Is there anyway to tell Quark to export the pdf with the vectors rasterized?

Thanks!

As far as I know, there is not. But the exported PDF can be saved as images for each page, using Adobe Acrobat, for example.
The exported graphic from Quark layout to PDF is made "as is", vectors are exported as vectors, bitmaps as bitmaps. These depend on what kind of graphic is used during the layout construction, because Quark supports both vectors and bitmaps images.
The vector art made entirely in Quark is exported also as vectors when exporting to PDF.
