Google Font Issue on Quark 8.5

Post by dshaw » 28 Nov 2017, 06:33

I realise that Quark 8.5 is very old but up until now has been working fine.

The issue I am now having is that since updating my mac operating system a lot of google fonts are now not working in Quark. They show up in Font Book and work on other software such as ai.

A lot of client work depends on these fonts working and I can't figure out how to get them working again, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Try converting the *.otf font to *.ttf using the Online Font Converter.

Hi Jiri,

Thanks for your reply. The font files I'm using is Source Sans Pro which is already .ttf. Will this work changing from .ttf to .otf?

If TTF font does not work in version 8.5, I can not help it. Try converting the font to * .ps. In any case, I really recommend trying to download the trial version QXP2017. You will be surprised how positive the jump is from version 8.5...

Yeah, we are definitely due an update.

I have cleared the font cache which has helped with some of the font issues. There are still some weights in certain fonts which are not displaying (Open Sans Bold) but I can live with that.

Thanks for the help.
