At long last I've revised and updated my Quark-built website, using good old 9.5.4.1. I do have Quark 10, but of course the web features are disabled, so I haven't actually got around to using it yet, continuing with 9 while I've been working on this site (and I have to confess that some of the scare stories have put me off while I've had a great deal of vital print jobs to finalise recently).Of course, it an old-fashioned 'static' site, but I really just need something that looks reasonably professional, and that I can point any interested parties at to view my general portfolio. My previous Quark site featured Flash, but that doesn't seem to function with the latest Mac OS. Anyway, it's surprising just how versatile the two-position roll-over technique can be, and that's what I used to link my thumbnails to the main images in the portfolio section (who needs Flash!).I'm hoping that eventually Quark will be offering an HTML5 web option, certainly I think that is something Matthias has been hinting at. When they first introduced the Interactive Designer option, Quark produced some superb training walk-throughs which were absolutely excellent for designers like me that just don't click naturally with web technology (I'm getting old!), and I really hope they might do something similar with any future HTML5 offering.There are some really good HTML5 templates out there with good customising instructions (Weebly is a prime example), and I think it could be good idea if Quark themselves were to consider producing a range of web templates, (produced in Quark of course), maybe even commissioning a third party to produce them. Actually, I would be quite prepared to pay to purchase such templates if they were designed to facilitate customisation with Quark, and offered those superb, responsive type portfolio views. Very nicely done. I think you did a great job using those two-position rollovers. I never really played with those much, but I like the results you were able to get out of them. My own site still uses a lot of Flash and, at some point, I need to get around to updating it. But it currently works on all of my devices. Even though I'm a Mac person and have 8 different Macs of various ages, I still don't own a single Apple mobile device at this time, so I can't really see what happens when I visit my site on them. I image it probably causes those devices to crash instantly and violently, forcing the owners to do a complete OS reinstall. I'll have to borrow someone else's iPhone and check.

Thanks very much, shaharaperil – sorry for the long delay in responding, I don't often look in on this forum often enough! The two-position roll-overs were a good, underrated feature, but I think its about time I bit the bullet and consider a new-fangled 'responsive' website that will adapt to whatever device the viewer is using. I really just need a nicely presented, self-branded portfolio site to point prospective clients towards, so I'm thinking I may go down the 'template' path this time. There are some very well thought out and adaptable website template collections out there these days. SquareSpace is currently my favourite. Might be an idea to look in to for you, too?
