Exporting from Quark to HTML

Post by adamevans » 12 Jul 2004, 13:11

I have never used Quark, I am a web developer and I have a client that wants to generate pages in Quark (their a print house) and output them in html. Once they've been outputted I have built a web content management system that can wrap their pages into the site. What we're having a problem with is when they export all they get is 1 htm file called Export1.htm and an images folder. Is it possible to name the html file when it's exported and can you name the images folder. I believe they are using v5. Any help would be appreciated and again I don't use Quark so the more info you can give me the better off I'll be.

HTML output is flaky at best and lacks little control within Quark. You will need to process the output with your CMS. Here is a thought...

Have your CMS accept the upload of the HTML and image files. Have your system automatically rename the HTML file and image folder to something distinct (example: 'export200407121439.html' and '200407121439_images'). Then have the CMS open the HTML file and find/replace all the references to the 'images' folder to the new path of the images on the server ('200407121439_images').
