QLA 4.5 Service Erroring

Post by ntoupin » 12 Oct 2011, 02:44

QLA Server (Service) seems to be randomly stopping/erroring. It runs for a few days and then this same error happens and stops the service. QLA has been freshly installed on the server (Windows 2003) and this is happening.

Are you able to launch QLA Server as an application, after the service is stopped?

No, even after the service has errored & stopped a "port is already in use" error showed when trying to launch the server .exe application and would not launch.

This means that the service does not quit, but stops serving licenses.
Please stop the QLA service manually (Run services.msc and stop Quark License Administrator) and then launch the server as an Application. Please let it run for a couple of days to check if the problem is limited to the "service mode".

When this is happening the service's status is "stopped" not "started". How can you run the QLA server application for days? You have to be logged on for this to happen to have it running, if you log off the application closes.
