QLA after network upgrade

Post by ChrisX1976 » 08 Sep 2009, 11:51

Hi
We have bought an upgrade from QuarkXPress 6.5 site licence to version 7.5 and 8. We were also running QLA Server 3.5.

Following a recent server upgrade, which resulted in new IP addressesfor all computers on our network, we are no longer able to run QLAServer. We need to run QuarkXPress 6.5 on some machines and QuarkXPress7.5/8 on others.

I have tried the following:

Install QLA Server 4.5 and generate licence file Result: Whenattempting to generate licence.dat file, our old Serial Number is displayed as Inactive
Install QLA Server 4.5 and generate licence file from new serialnumber when we purchased upgrade Result: When launching QuarkXPress 6.5,a dialog box displays Quark Licence Administrator is unable to providea licence for this version of QuarkXPress. Please contact your systemadministrator

Note: I have tried this with our original activation code of Quark 6 and the new activation that was supplied with our upgrade of Quark.

I have also tried QLA Sever 3.5 with the same results.

If you could give me any help on this matter would be gratefully received.

We are currently running on Emergency Licence Keys which will expire on Friday.

QLA after network upgrade

Dear,The issue seems to be with the serial number. when you upgraded your serial number to version 7 / 8 your existing version 6 serial number should have been de-activated now. thats the reason QLA is not able to grant the license to Version 6.Hope it helps

QLA after network upgrade

Post by ChrisX1976 » 08 Sep 2009, 21:20

Hi
That was my thinking to. However, we need to be able to run QuarkXPress 6 for the time being as the roll out to Quark 7 will take quite some time.
Many thanks

Do you have a phone number for them? I am based in the UK if that makes any difference.
