QLA Heartbeat issues

Hello,

We have QLA 4.5.2 running in OS X Server 10.9.3. When a Quark client crashes, the user is opening the application immediately. This occurs to a new license being issued.
What are the proper settings for heartbeat to avoid this?

Best regards

Kostas

The license will be freed up eventually. You may reduce the HearBeat interval to 60

Thank you,

Not acceptable solution by the client...
You may reduce the HearBeat interval to 60
Thats what I did, but even the 1 minute is big time for the user.

Is there any chance to free ourselves from the QLA Server and have the applications licensed without it, locally like in the past?

Best regards

Kostas

How about using Check Out License menu under Utility menu?
The number of check out days can be extended by using QLA client, until the number which your license allows.
I always do it when I should research a crash issue so that my license doesn't expire even temporary.

Thank Siyoh, that should work well.

However, you may also change "Retries" to 1, so that the server only checks for licenses once become they are freed up.

Total time to refresh = (Heartbeat Interval) * (number of retries)

And what happens to the client until the license gets free?

I have 7 full and 15 upgrade licences (total 22). How many days should you suggest?

@alieen

You may try "Check Out License" option to keep licensing information locally, as suggested above by Siyoh.
