Q4 Xmath-want to upgrade to Q8--what extensions are availabl

Post by JJT » 20 Aug 2009, 03:45

our math books are created using PC Q4 using Yorks Xmath. Has anyone converted books to Q6? We cannot edit the math--no Xmath extension!
I don't believe that xmath came out with an extension for Q6 or higer. Did they? I can't even find info about them on the web.
the catch is that we would love to upgrade, but our books are in Q4 using x-math for the fractions, equationsetc. (qx tools too!) When we make edits to these books, we need to match the xmath sets.
What other math extensions are available? Can anyone verify that they have had this issue too?
Thanks![^o)]

Have you looked at Quark's XPressMath XTension?
(http://www.quark.com/products/xpress/xt ... math7.html)
It's available now for XPress 7.31, and an 8.x version should be released soon.

Hope this helps,

Q4 Xmath-want to upgrade to Q8--what extensions are availabl

I'm working in apublishing industry for 9 years and we do more work in InDesign than Quark. ETMv2 and Quark 7are our client requirements and I MUST need to learn this process. We did a lot of XML/ETM in Quark 4 but I don't have idea or find any to explain the process on this higher version. We already prepared ETMv2 compliantcoded disk and my only problem is how to pour this on Quark 7.
In InDesign, there's an "import xml" option, then we map the tag to styles. I did not find anything like this in Quark 7 or am I missing something? extension perhaps?
I will greatly appreciate any help.
Thank you!
