how to integrate PHP and mySql in Quark 8

Post by dutch_dave » 10 Jun 2010, 03:09

I checked the .fla file myself and copy pasted javascript : offerte() in the URL and the overlay popped up (the blank space before and after : I added to avoid this script will be blocked).
http://www.24x.nl/kaarten2/kaartmailing/A5-41.html

So it's indeed a URL we need to post. Any idea what I am doing wrong? The event is linked to the object, added to the script, the script is activated in the page (enter script). So I don't see why it doesn't work. Even the email link doesn't work.

David

Hi Matthias,
I solved both issues myself after watching http://www.vimeo.com/10428157
I used the action 'post' instead of 'open URL'. Email script as well as the overlay works fine now. Thanks for your help . End result of the test:
http://www.24x.nl/kaarten2/kaartmailing/A5-41.html (too login you need a pasword, so you can't see the overlay).
I am very excited now as we can change the lay out in the CMS system whenever we want to through .swf files generated in Quark 8. Besides, it saves lots of money too. Great stuff Quark Interactive!

David

This is part of a CMS system built by our web agency. We only upload the .swf file (made in Quark 8) for each page we add.

It's just opening the URL to activate it. If everything in life would be that easy...

Hi Helene,

If you don't care for a high security solution you can actually build that in Interactive in QuarkXPress, by either storing the password in the Flash file OR by storing it on a server and a script verifying it and sending back an ok or not ok.
As either the content is within the SWF or it callign a URL, that's also not very secure but maybe sufficient for your use case?

Thanks
Matthias

Here. Where should I start?
Basically what you do is to create two boxes, one that will hold the name and one the password.
They need to be editable text boxes. You'll also need to create a log on button that triggers a scritp to check for correct passwords.
You read the text content with GetText() Expression and check whether it is correct. If not, you displa a warning, if yes, you display next page.
Where do you need help?
Thanks
Matthias
