custom page for playing mp3s

Post by jfirst » 22 Apr 2012, 22:55

Our Church website (created in Quark) lists about 60 mp3 files that can be accessed & listened to online. However, what is displayed is a black background with an mp3 player (I guess that's what it is) showing the progress etc. I would like to have our own page with graphics etc that sits there while an mp3 player does it's thing! However, I don't want to create a different page & a different player for each of the 60 mp3 files because they are changed regularly. Is there anyway I can have one page, that is the background for the player that plays the selected mp3 file?

You need to use a customizable media player for this. You may want to try http://jplayer.org/

Thanks sarbjitq but how do I make that work in Quark? How do I link that to my mp3 files & get it to link to my quark created page?

You will have to make manual changes to the HTML files exported from QuarkXPress. You can design the page, export it and then place the audio as described by the player that you wish to use.

Yes, any text editor will do.If you wish to use only QuarkXPress, you need to create interactive layouts with audio files. However that will not be native.I recommend that you use native HTML 5 tag, even though it involves more work.
