Background music

Post by Rianvan » 05 Apr 2012, 07:35

I am hoping to find step by step instructions on how to import a music file (and what formats are acceptable), to play in the background of a picture slideshow. I've tried different things, some of which I've found on this forum, but they haven't worked for me. Quark crashes - although it may just be me doing things incorrectly. I am a print person, so some of this is new to me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am working on version 8.5.1
Flash Player version 10.0.22.87

Hi,
You can use action Sound> Play Background > "Sound File". Or, you canspecify in Animation object or can create a script that plays the background sound as well as animation. Please elobarate more on how you aretrying to play sound.
Thanks,
JB

Background music

Thanks for this. I have now been able to place the mp3 file and I do indeed get playback when previewing the html (reading the mp3 file direct on my computer). But, when I export and then upload via ftp to my site, the mp3 file does not seem to copy over and thus does not play when live on the web. I've tried uploading the mp3 separately, but I'm not sure where to place it, plus there is probably something else I'm not doing properly...?
