Document Converter 1.2 - fields are greyed out

I have downloaded the latest release of the Quark Document Converter 1.2.
The installation tells me that the certificate is outdated but I can install it on both a MacPro running Sierra and a MacBook running High Sierra. On the MacPro the software starts but the converter fileds remain greyed out - and I cannot convert anything.

On the MBPro the application starts, then after awhile there is a spinning wheel and then the grey fields become active. I haven't checked whether it would do soemthing but at least the interface is ok.

What can be wrong with the installation on the MacPro/10.12.6

Since the fields are greyed out, nothing happens when I drag the files/folders over them.

I'm a IT Support Specialist at the University of Michigan, and one of our Library users is having this exact issue. Sometimes, the Document Converter window will come up when launched, but will disappear a few seconds later. Other times, the window seems to try to load without end (screencap below). The user is on a Mac, but I've installed this on both Windows PCs and Macs, and both platforms are experiencing the same issue.



Any help would be greatly appreciated.
