El Capitan Update for QXP2015 on Mac OSX10.10

Post by Binky » 14 Oct 2015, 09:09

I am running the newest version of QXP2015 under Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10.5 -- so obviously I have not yet up-graded my Mac to El Capitan.

In fact, I may never upgrade this computer to El Capitan - it is an antique 2007 2.8 GHz iMac with only 6 Gigs of RAM.

Is there any benefit to doing the El Capitan update on QXP2015 or--

Will it have no benefit under Yosemite ?

Will it be possibly detrimental under Yosemite ?

QXP2015 running under Yosemite is the most scathingly brilliant, responsive and stable version of QXP I have ever worked with and I do not want to make any "improvements" that might be detrimental.

Hi Binky,

yes, you can install the El Capitan Update for QuarkXPress 2015 on your Yosemite machine. It should make everything even faster.

If you want to be on the safe side, duplicate your QuarkXPress 2015 folder, install the Update and test. If everything works well, delete the duplicate. If not, then delete the QuarkXPress 2015 folder and rename the duplicate folder to "QuarkXPress 2015".

Does that make sense?

And thank you for the nice words!

Regards
Matthias
