PDF & email attachment

Post by printer5950 » 11 Jul 2018, 10:55

I’m posting this question on three Forums because I don’t know where to target this problem, Apple, Quark & Adobe. I’ve done this Newsletter in Quark (2016 12.2.3), make a PDF which looks fine when I view it but when I email to the customer, this is what she gets. In the picture the copy has re-flowed, left to right as well as top to bottom, images have shifted…? ANY ideas are welcome.

What PDF viewer is she using? Is she viewing it in her email application? A browser? Preview? Acrobat/Reader?

It's an odd problem I've never experienced before.

Hi Mike

She's using Outlook mail & views it with reader. I did find one article that it might be a security setting she needs to change through outlook but she hasn't gotten back to me yet with any updates/information.

If by Reader she means Windows' PDF Reader under Windows 10, that thing is horrible. I can opt to view PDFs inside of Outlook, but they can try to reflow as well.

I would recommend she download Adobe Reader and install it (at least that's not what she meant), save the attachment out of Outlook and open it in Adobe Reader.

Good luck!

Mike
