Drop caps

Post by Jim6Davis » 07 Jan 2017, 14:13

Can't find how to do drop caps on the new Quark Xpress 2016. No doubt it will turn out to be super obvious.

A couple of ways. I use paragraph styles for the lead paragraph (and any others that use the same style) and a character style to apply the font if it is different from the paragraph style's text (like below).

If I use a character style for formatting the drop cap, I'll often create conditions to apply it to my selected text.

You can also use the checkbox in the Measurement Palette, in the Paragraph tab.

Oops. Thanks, Max.

That option was the point when I started my post and never got around to taking a screen shot.

Max - Somehow I have to learn how to be more observant. I thought I looked at every one of the options in the palette.

Thanks for the info....
