Convert to native objects - photos sliced up?

Post by jgold723 » 02 May 2018, 12:06

I'm trying to the the Convert to Native objects function in QX2016 and I'm having trouble, particularly with images. I'm working with an ad which has a single background image. But after converting, the image is actually divided into a series of slices. Is this the way convert to native objects normally works? Or am I doing something wrong?

It seems there are some transparency in the imported PDF. Open the PDF in Acrobat and select the touch up tool and you will find how the PDF is constructed, QXP converting as per the source PDF.

Most likely cause of image slicing in a pdf is transparency -flattening, slices could be actually in the pdf due to selecting v1.3 compatibility, or if at any stage EPS or .ps has been used. If it really is Quark that is doing the slicing you could use a feature in Acrobat to Export out the images.
