Quark 2016 asking for access to Mac OSX Contacts - why?

Had 2016 installed for a couple of years - why have I just got an alert box asking for permission for Quark to access my Contacts app - why does QuarkXpress need that?

Hi Simon,

did you just update to Mojave and does the box appear since then?

Mojave adds additional privacy details and I believe it is probably our crash reporter asking for your email address to pre-populate the field.

You will see many apps under Mojave ask for permissions that they before could just get (e.g. a backup software just asked me to get access to the file system).

We will fix that in the Mojave compatibility update or at least document it.

Thanks
Matthias

Thanks for the reply Matthias. Yes i did upgrade to Mojave and thanks for letting me know. Thanks to Facebook I am now very suspicious of anything asking for access to my data!

I am having crashes trying to save files across a network to a Drobo5N file share and suspect that might need an update to sort out correctly so will work locally for now.

Hi Simon,
Other than the issue of Quark 2016 asking for permissions have you had any other issues with Quark.
I would like to upgrade but as always would prefer to know i won't encounter any surprises.
cheers
Tony

As this topic came up again in a recent thread on Facebook:
This has been fixed in QuarkXPress 2018.

Thanks
Matthias
