Quark 2017 - Batch process RGB multiple images to CMYK?

Post by k-utm » 19 Sep 2017, 10:41

Any way to convert multiple RGB images to CMYK without having to open each image file and convert it such as in Photoshop?
Thanks.

Do you have a Mac?

If so, you can automate this with an Applescript and GraphicConverter. We do this with our editorial photos every week. Two watched folders trip the applescript whenever images are placed inside and spit out the appropriate file on the other end. All I have to do is color balance.

Hi kutm,

QuarkXPress 2017 can do this, yes. However why would you do this early?

RGB gives you better flexibility, nowadays RGB workflows are common. And you convert later just before going to print. You can also do that intermediate, right when you export the PDF out of QuarkXPress (convert all images from RGB to CMYK based on ICC profiles).

Thanks
Matthias

Is there a command you can run in the new Quark 2017?
Thanks.

Yes, "File > Export Picture > All Pictures in Layout…"

QuarkXPress will create new images. There's an option to link the new images to the layout automatically.

Thanks
