QuarkXPress 2017 unexpectedly quit error message

Post by aopg71 » 07 Feb 2018, 11:05

Hi Everyone,

Not a serious problem, but one I cannot find a satisfactory answer to. I am currently running QuarkXPress 2017 on a 15" late 2016 MacBook Pro running on MacOS 10.13.3 High Sierra.

After successfully quitting QuarkXPress and it shutting down gracefully, I receive a MacOS error message stating that the 'Application QuarkXPress 2017 has unexpectedly quit'.

I have tried running the Quark Cache Cleaner application and trashes the preferences, without success.

Has anyone else running QuarkXPress 2017 on MacOS come across this behaviour?

Maybe an XTension that is running wild? Are you using third party XTs?

Thanks
Matthias

Hi. Many thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

The only third party XTension that I have running in QuarkXPress 2017 is FontExplorer X Pro 6 for MacOS. I see where you are coming from regarding this and will try uninstalling it to test if this might be what is causing the unexpected close message.

I will let you know how it goes.

What version of Quark?

We have recently upgraded our machines to High Sierra 10.13 and on one machine Quark 2017 started behaving oddly (including the shutdown crash message). Having checked all sorts of things, including clearing Quark (and finder) preferences, I have now realised that that machine had Quark 13.0.1 instead of 13.2.1. As soon as I updated to the latest version all was well.

Hope this helps.
