Installer won't accept validation code

Installer won't accept validation code

I am upgrading from QuarkXPress 2017 (Windows) to 2018 and followed the prompt to retrieve my validation code. At the software verification step of the process, I have copied and pasted the code into the box and also entered the code manually and keep getting an error saying the validation code is incorrect. I have also tried selecting both Upgrade and Full Install as the installation type. What am I doing wrong?

Never mind! I was entering my version 2017 serial number instead of the new serial number when obtaining the code. Everything is good now.

I have the problem, too. The serial number provided by Quark was rejected as being not valid. As the receipt said it would be necessary to provide previous serial numbers I also tried these. A validation code was generated in these cases but not accepted by Quark 2018. Trying to contact Quark was also not working as the mail form ended up in an error message.
Any hints?

You cannot enter a serial number in the installer, you need to have a validation code.

If you bought a new license, you have received your validation code in the purchase receipt.
If you ordered an upgrade, then you will have to create the validation code in accounts.quark.com by pointing it to a previous version first.
