QuarkXPress 2018 Crashing

Post by ol1ver » 02 Jun 2018, 09:29

I have just installed the trial version of QuarkXPress 2018 on MacOS High Sierra.
For some reason I can not get it to open at all. The following error occurs:

QuarkXPress[1169:124124] Failed to connect (cacheCleanerMenuItem) outlet from (AppMenuController) to (NSMenuItem): missing setter or instance variable
QuarkXPress[1169:124124] Failed to connect (separatorCacheCleaner) outlet from (AppMenuController) to (NSMenuItem): missing setter or instance variable
QuarkXPress[1169:124124] Failed to connect (exportOptionsAction) outlet from (ItemMenuController) to (NSMenuItem): missing setter or instance variable
Segmentation fault: 11

Does anyone have any suggestions to fix this?
Thanks

Do you have any other version of QuarkXPress installed on this machine?

When I first installed QuarkXPress 2018 I didn't have any other version installed and I was getting this error.
I then installed QuarkXPress 2017, which works fine. However, I still get the same error with the 2018 version.

Thanks

Exactly the same happens here on El Capitan with QXP 9 to QXP 2017 working without a fuss ...

Please follow these steps to delete QuarkXPress Preferences:
1. Hold down the option key, on the keyboard. Click Go -> Library. Then go to Preferences, then Quark. Rename (or Delete) the folder named QuarkXPress 2018.
2. Re-launch QuarkXPress 2018.

Does that help?

I've just tried that. It created a new QuarkXPress 2018 folder but the same error still occurs.

Thanks

Please share the QuarkXPress Crash Logs as described below:
1. Create a folder named "QuarkLogs" on the Desktop.
2. Hold down the option key, on the keyboard. Click Go -> Library. Then go to "Logs", then "DiagnosticReports". Copy all the files starting with "Quark" to the folder created above.
3. Similarly copy files from this folder: Mac HDD/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports
4. Now Compress the folder you created, that now has all the files, to a zip file that send that to us.
