Post by Richard Fairbanks » 11 Jul 2018, 13:59

How can I get QXP2018 to use the palette sets from QXP2016?
Thank you!

Hi Richard,

I've not moved them from two versions back, dunno why it wouldn't work though.

I'm using Windows, so the path to the palette sets is shown for Windows. I don't know where on a Mac if that's what you're using.

Mine for v.2016 are here:
C:\Users\mikew\AppData\Local\Quark\QuarkXPress 2016\Palette Sets

There will be one or more named something other than Q's default palette set named Preferences.xml. So copy the others to the 2018 location which is the same as the above path with the exception for the Quark version.

Do this with QXP shut down.

Mike

Found it. On the Mac, they’re in:

/Users/<your user name>/Library/Preferences/Quark/QuarkXPress 2016/Palette Sets.plist
and
/Users/<your user name>/Library/Preferences/Quark/QuarkXPress 2018/Palette Sets.plist

I just edited the 2018 plist to match the other, but I’m assuming that the file can just be replaced.

Thanks, Mike!

Excellent! Thanks for getting back with the paths to the Mac. I'm sure it'll help others.

Take care, Mike
