Page break is possible in QXP after all

Post by urs7000 » 21 Dec 2020, 06:21

When creating a book, you would like to have a page break before a new chapter. What is easy in WORD seems to be missing in QXP. 1. But there is a simple solution in QXP :D

1. Create a new paragraph format with a name like "_Page Break" which has a spacing AFTER with almost the height of the text frame, for example 135 mm if the text frame is 140 mm.

2. Insert a new line in the text, for example before a "Heading 1" and assign the paragraph format "_Page Break" to the new line.

Then "Heading 1" will jump to the next page. I have tested this with QXP 2015 to 2020.

Merry Christmas, Jens.

P.S. You can find an exact instruction and explanation in German on my website http://autorentrickkiste.de/seitenumbru ... arkxpress/.

If I understand what you are trying to do, there is a very simple solution in Quark.

Use the Enter Key on the Number Pad.

This keystroke is actually a column break, but I also use it to create page breaks when the text boxes are linked. In hidden characters, you will see a downward pointing arrow. If you have multiple columns, you may need to repeat the keystroke to get to the next page.
