Forum Migration

Post by Matt James » 18 Jun 2014, 05:50

To all Quark forum users;

The time has finally arrived for a new forum! A lot of people have asked us over the last couple years to change things and or develop a new forum. We have done our best to convert as much as possible and give you the tools and features most often asked for. We know that there may still be things you prefer to see but we believe this a step in the right direction and we will consider requests as time allows. We have engaged some of the forum users to help us test and give us feedback on what we developed so they have been involved in the process.

So for all the details:

We will be migrating the forums to the new platform this coming weekend, June 20th-23rd, 2014.
During this time the forum will be in read-only mode while we migrate. No new posts or registrations will be permitted during this time.

What to expect:
All Users and Posts will be migrated, note the exception below.

Profile data is not coming over so you will have to re-enter it.You will need to reset your password via the I forgot my password" link on the login page.

Formatting on existing posts might not look correct in some cases, but going forward the WYSIWYG editor will work in all modern browsers. This means no more hand formatting via HTML!!!

Any links in your posts to other posts will not work. If you have a post that links to another please edit it or use the search feature.
There was no way to migrate these old links.

Users with 0 posts and that have not accessed the system in the last 9 months will not be migrated.

We do hope you enjoy the new forum.
