Meanwhile, I'll be working with XML import facilities in Quark 8.1.6 (I think Quark can do more than the user handbook tells).

I understood most of your screencast but am a little confused on how to create the xml records from my excel spreadsheet.Isn't there a reasonable extension available just do do mail merge that isn't too complicated? I was looking at xData extension and even downloaded the demo version but that is such overkill for what I want to do.Thanks!

if you don't want to use the out-of-the-box functionality as described above, then I know a simple mail merge XTension, JoLetter:

Maybe that's what you are looking for?
