Its just that Safari treats line endings differently. So rather than staring a new line, the text is put into a single paragraph.
That may or may not be true, but when the forums were on phpBB2 we never had any issues. These forums here, now - went live in 2008. That's when the trouble began. And it was very vocal and Matt James and Mark Lawler know about it. And nothing has ever been done about it (or at least communicated to the forum members).
I've been to the website of the software vender that makes this forum software. Supposedly, per Matt, Quark went with the forums because they are more secure. Be that as it may, for the thousands that Quark spent to purchase this forum software from a large business vender, you'd think that at least the software would work with Safari. Again, for the price Quark paid for this software users should not have to revert to the dark ages by coding returns in HTML just to make line breaks. Especially, since this has been known about for going on almost 3.5 years now.
I have been on a large number of forums over the years. This forum is the only one I've ever seen that required HTML paragraph coding for Safari.
I could go onbut I will leave it for now.
It is kind of annoying. But the silver lining is that writing out the code manually every time I need to post a link has finally gotten me to remember how to properly code a link in HTML. I always had to look that up because I would always leave something out. Until this morning, that is. It finally sunk in after I had to do it three times in one post on this forum. It's a small thing, but I'll take new wrinkles in my brain any way I can get them. lol.
