Nothing happens
Nothing happens
I'm on Sierra 10.12.5 and have the latest version of the Document Converter, but nothing happens.
I can select a file, the window closes and then... nothing. I can't see any new files with v9 at the end anywhere on the machine.
If I try a folder it lists every file and again nothing happens when its finished.
The files I'm trying to convert are Quark 8 files.

Re: Nothing happens
You need the .qxp extension added to the filenames.

Thanks, but that didn't make any difference.

Re: Nothing happens
Hi Car,
why are you converting QuarkXPress 8 files? All modern versions of QuarkXPress can open QuarkXPress 8 files directly.
Thanks
Matthias

Re: Nothing happens
Are you sure these are documents from QuarkXPress 8? Does QuarkXPress 2016 show that when you select (not open) the document in the Open Dialog?
if it is an old document, add file extension qxd (not qxp) please.
The only reason why you would need to convert v8 documents is if they contain a web layout, an interactive layout or have Pasteboard XT required.
Thanks
Matthias

Re: Nothing happens
The files are from a colleague's computer and he's just upgraded to OS Sierra so I'm wondering if the files have corrupted somehow. They show up in the finder though.
The open dialogue information is completely blank.

Re: Nothing happens
WHen the information is completely blank, that either says that they are corrupt or they are not QuarkXPress documents.
Open the file in a Text Editor please. What do the first characters say?
Thanks
Matthias

Re: Nothing happens
I am using Quark 2018 Windows version and have some old qxd documents created in QX v3.3 in the year 2000.
I tried downloading the 1.2 converter but somehow I always end up up with the shortcut version, so when I try to convert one of my old QXD files, nothing happens.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks,
Blair

Re: Nothing happens
Hi Blair,
sorry, what gets created as a shortcut, the QuarkXPress Document Converter or the files?
Thanks
Matthias
