Cover "fixed" and text "reflow"?

Post by PUKI » 26 Dec 2017, 07:36

Hi everybody,

I am facing the following problem and hoping that someone can help me out.
For a digital publication that can be read on a German e-reader (tolino page) I need a cover that is "fixed" (otherwise it is displayed uncorrectly) and a text layout that is "reflow" (otherwise the reader cannot scale the text). So far, I have not been able to combine these two parameters, but I guess there is a solution to it, since there are plenty of e-books on the market that seem to work correctly. Unformtunately, tolino cannot answer my question, since they don't work with QuarkXpress (2017).
I'd be very thankful for any hints on how to solve the problem.
Thanks in advance!
Puki

Hi Puki,

when you create an ebook in reflow fashion, then the first page has the fixed dimension of the first page and the rest flows freely. It sounds like that's what you are looking for.

Thanks
Matthias
