iMac from Nov. 2017
High Sierra 10.13.5
Latest version of QuarkXpress 2018 (and 2017)
Trying to start either one results in hanging at starting program (spinning color wheel).
Have to force quit.
Deleted preferences and restarted. Same results.
Uninstalled 2018, restarted, reinstalled, restarted. Program worked for an hour. Quit. Next day some problems with starting.
Even submitting automatic crash report hangs.
Help.

While I'm not sure if the problem has been fully resolved, through a back-and-forth with Tech Support, the issue seems to be with fonts. It's a bit of a process of elimination to determine which font is causing the problem, however, I think it came down to one particular file with a suspect font(s), that was causing the problem. Seems that in the process of trying to open the recovered file every time I forced quit and restarted, Xpress would get hung up. Went back to a previous version of the file using Time Machine and the recovered file seemed to be fine. Tech Support also suggested disabling Font Utilities and use Font Book (Mac) to validate fonts to help isolate potential problems. So far, so good.
