Importing Text and Changing Font Loses Italics, Bold

Post by tdeprenda0314 » 09 Nov 2018, 10:15

I know this has been an ongoing issue with Quark 2018 but I am hoping there is way around this:

When I import text into my layout, it contained a combination of roman and italics in the text. When I changed the font to the actual face I needed, because it comes in as unknown font or Calibri, it changed it all to the roman or regular face instead of retaining the "fake" italics. I had to manually change everything. This is a very-time consuming, and hoping, I didn't miss anything. This an unacceptable. Please change it back!

What is the workaround or solution to this?
Thanks in advance.

I import the text into a text box from MS Word supplied by the editor. I then select all and change the text to the body text face, usually a roman or regular font face. Prior to 2018, doing would retain the "fake" styles that I could do a search and replace in the Usage Dialog Box. By selecting all and changing the typeface now, it loses the applied styles.
